WELCOME! Il Pellegrino is a small and quiet place which can be used as a base from which to explore the beauty of the Italian Riviera and as a place to relax and unwind. The House is situated 600 metres above the seaside town of Rapallo, a favourite holiday destination of W. B. Yeats, P. B. Shelly, G. Byron and the place Friedrich Nietzsche claimed to have conceived Thus Spake Zarathustra.
One of the most attractive features of the House is the stunning views it has and a gorgeous Santuary: from all of the rooms on the front of the building and from the terrace the whole of the Gulf of Rapallo, Santa Margherita, Portofino and the Ligurian Sea are literally laid out before you with views extending almost as far as Corsica to the South and Imperia to the West.
It possible to reach the place driving with the own car along the lovely road, 10 km. long, through the countryside; by bus, which starts from the front of the train station of Rapallo or with a wonderful funicular, that in 7 minutes discover the gorgeous view on the Gulf of Tigullio.
From Rapallo, it is possible to explore a wide range of the different places and sights along the Italian Riviera, including as diverse places as the wonderful historic city of Genoa and the famous fishing villages of the Cinque Terre. Because of its location, there are plenty of opportunities for walking and mountain biking in the hills, woods and countryside around the House. The peace and quiet of the House mean that it is also a perfect place to stay for a 'study holiday' - reading, art, playing music, writing and learning: indeed a beautiful large room with a baroque cembalo, a copy of an original Mörmans's instrument built in Anversa in 1564, and an old fortepiano built in the middle of the 19th century.
